The Play:  Patio Playhouse is proud to be presenting the WORLD PREMIERE production of the newly revised musical "Celebration" by "I Do! I Do!" and "The Fantasticks" authors Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones. Originally presented on Broadway in 1969, the show was named as one of the Best Plays of the year by Burns/Mantle. The score was widely praised by critics, but the authors felt the play needed revision and updating. There has only been a staged reading of the new version at the York theater in New York in 2001. Patio's production will be the first full scale production of the new script.

An angel who wants to be a rock star and an orphan who has a score to settle come together on New Year's Eve at the mansion of the world's richest man. Despite the ritual battle between young and old, winter and summer, birth and death, everyone finds a reason for celebration in this musical, which is being directed by Kevin Jones.
