ONSTAGE PLAYHOUSE PRESENTS
AMERICA ’S FIRST DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE
IN THE STAGE ADAPTATION OF
“THE GRADUATE”
March 09 – April 07, 2007
Adapted for the stage by Terry Johnson
Based on the novel by Charles Webb
and the screenplay by Calder Willingham & Buck Henry

A cult novel, an iconic movie milestone of its era and now destined to be the hottest ticket on stage this spring as director Daniel Zisko and OnStage Playhouse’s cast bring it vividly back to life.  It’s California in the 60’s and Benjamin Braddock’s highly entertaining sexual odyssey begins almost innocently with Mrs. Robinson’s zipper, before progressing into a hapless love story with her daughter Elaine.  Part romance and part comedy, this classic coming of age story still maintains its appeal across the generations.

Daniel Zisko, who has served as director for several OnStage Playhouse shows including “Prelude to a Kiss and “Thee Days of Rain”, will helm California ’s first non-Equity production of this classic movie.  Bruce Wilde, an OnStage Board of Directors member and director, will produce.

“The Graduate” has been adapted for the stage by author and director Terry Johnson and stars Kaly McKenna, an award-winning actress (“Three Tall Women”, “The Laramie Project”) as Mrs. Robinson.  The cast also features Tim Schubert as Benjamin Braddock, Rhianna Cultrona as Elaine Robinson, Jerry Young as Mr. Robinson, Lizzie Mander-Wilson as Mrs. Braddock, James R. Steinberg as Mr. Braddock, and an Ensemble of three actors playing multiple roles: Nathan Plummer, Paul Schaeffer and Erika Zepeda.

“The Graduate” is very adult comedy with very adult situations and content and is not recommended for those under 17 years of age.  The production is produced by special arrangement with Studio Canal and Samuel French, Inc.

Ticket prices are $15.00 general admission, $13.00 students/seniors/military.  Group rates are available by contacting Betsy Keller via the theatre contact information below.  Curtain times are Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.
