Just in time for the midterm elections Miracle Theatre Productions presents the nationally acclaimed comedy troupe GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT (GNP) and their newest bi-partisan revue SON OF A BUSH, running two weeks only, November 1st through 12th at The Theatre in Old Town.

Republican, Democrat or Independent, everyone can relate to GNP’s fast-paced, hilarious political potshots. Hailed by The Wall Street Journal as a “comedy feast,” GNP turns its satirical sites to the hot issues and people of the day. Targets range from Mark Foley to Iraq, the embattled President to Hillary Clinton, North Korea’s Kim Jong Il to NSA eavesdropping, the best Congress that lobbyists can buy, illegal aliens, Katrina and of course, big oil. Sketches are always topical and subject to change with the zeitgeist.

“We are thrilled to have been able to book GNP for the elections,” said Miracle Theatre Productions Producing Director, Jill Mesaros. “In 1996 we brought their ON THE DOLE show to San Diego during the Republican National Convention and audiences loved them. Their humor is smart and so up to the minute. These are actors who read the paper every day and keep their material as current as today’s headlines. GNP has been a highly regarded institution inside the Beltway for years and it’s our pleasure to bring them to town for this very limited engagement.”  

GNP founder John Simmons and Christine Thompson have been in the funny business together since 1991, leaving no administration unspoofed. Both are veterans of all five GNP national specials on PBS’s "UnOfficial Debates," as well as numerous GNP revues over the year. These include "The First 100 Daze," "Man Without a Contra," "BushCapades," "Hell to the Chief," "A Newt World Order," "GNP: On the Dole," and "All the President's Women."
