Playreaders Present
A
Perfect Ganesh
A TRIP TO INDIA - No passport required! Join the
Carlsbad Playreaders for Terrence McNally's "A Perfect Ganesh" April
23rd at 7:30 p.m. in the Dove Library Schulman Auditorium, directed by (and
featuring) award-winning actress Sandra Ellis-Troy.
A Perfect Ganesh is about the pilgrimage tradition turned on its head, when two
middle-aged lady friends - Margaret and Kathrine - throw themselves into a
rousing tour of India, looking to fulfill their secret dreams. They end up
revealing their inner-most selves as they encounter the cheerful Hindu spirit,
the Golden Elephant God Ganesha, with results both tragic and comic, by turns
gut-wrenching and funny. Featuring Sandra Ellis-Troy*, Amir Khastoo*, Pat DiMeo,
Jaysen Waller and Li-Anne Rowswell.
Playwright Terrence McNally is the author of Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de
Lune, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Ragtime, and Lips Together, Teeth Apart, and is
a four-time Tony Award winner.
Sandra Ellis-Troy, actress and director, last appeared with the Playreaders in
The Glass Menagerie. She has been honored with 14 acting awards for best
performance, is Guest Artist at Lambs Players Theatre, Resident Artist at NCRT,
