Act of Desperation Theatre Company presents...

AN IDEAL HUSBAND
By Oscar Wilde
Directed by Robert Salas

Presented at the Black Box Theater, One Maverick Way, Carlsbad, CA
August 2, 3, and 4 at 8:00 PM.
Admission is FREE.

Act of Desperation Theatre Company is proud to present the company’s third annual summer performance at the Black Box Theater. The group was founded by local San Diego Area alumni that have all gone on to study theatre studies at various universities (Harvard, NYU: Tisch School of the Arts, Cal State Fullerton, UC Berkeley, American University). Previous summer shows were Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead and Durang's Baby With the Bathwater, and both received great local praise.

Filled with flamboyant characters, biting wit, and hilarious secrecy, Oscar Wilde's works capture the uproarious lifestyle of the London upper-class at the end of the 19th century.

Robert Salas, the play’s director trained at Harvard University, has received acclaim for his artistic talents from many of the most prominent theatre organizations in San Diego (North Coast Repertory, New Village Arts, the Old Globe Theatre), as well as many other organizations (Educational Theatre Association, International Thespian Society, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts). He has directed many plays at Harvard University in addition to Act of Desperation's last two shows.

Act of Desperation invites the San Diego community to come witness a modern twist on Wilde's classic. Wilde's biting wit assumes a new form when paired with rock 'n roll and new gadgets. Suitable for all ages. For further information or tickets please call (760) 310-0323 or e-mail ActofD@gmail.com.
