BIO: Sherri Allen is a San Diego-based actor, director, and teacher with extensive credits in both local and regional theatre.  She understudied 21 roles in Continental Divide: Daughters of the Revolution at the La Jolla Playhouse during the 2004 season (directed by Tony Taccone), and four roles in Uncle Vanya during the 2003 season (directed by Emily Mann; starring Amanda Plummer).  Besides the La Jolla Playhouse, Sherri has worked with Asolo Theatre Company, PCPA Theaterfest, Moonlight Stages, North Coast Repertory Theatre, the Old Globe Theatre's Education Department, Lamb's Players Touring Company, and Summer Repertory Theatre, among others, and was a performer and show captain at Legoland California for over three years.  Recent credits include two television commercials for Valley Career College, appearances on the new FOX television series, “Point Pleasant,” and a three-month tour throughout the southwestern United States with Traveling Lantern Theatre Company.  Next, Sherri appears as Titania/Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Poor Players Theatre Company, which runs April 29th through June 12th, 2005.  Sherri is a member of the San Diego Actor's Alliance.

 

TRAINING: Sherri holds a BA in Drama from San Diego State University, studied Shakespeare and British Theatre in London, interned at PCPA Theaterfest, and did graduate work in theatre on a full scholarship at Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. Additionally, Sherri earned a teaching credential in English, has taught English at the middle- and high-school levels, and Drama to students in grades K-12.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS: Piano, Dancing (ballet, tap, jazz, salsa, lindy-hop); Dialects (American Southern, Cockney, Standard British, Irish, and Brooklyn).
